Liga Plaveniece is the program coordinator and the primary contact for visitor groups at the Pew Forum on Religion & Public Life. Previously, Liga was a program assistant at the United Nations Association of the National Capital Area. Prior to moving to Washington, D.C., Liga interned as a city correspondent at North Oaks News in St. Paul, Minn., and was the news editor and staff writer at her college newspaper. Liga received a B.A. in communications with a journalism emphasis and a minor in political science from Northwestern College. A native of Latvia, Liga is fluent in Latvian and Russian.
